We are a locally owned company operating in the Waste Management and Recycling Industry.
The Position
In this key role you will manage & coordinate all site and Fleet Maintenance activities at agreed budgeted and forecasted costs and ensure it is performed in a safe & efficient manner - maximising recycling plant efficiency and utilising all available resources to the maximum potential. The position will also be required to do all parts ordering and maintaining inventory. This role is 60% hands on 40% office based.
Detailed accountabilities are found in the Position Description which is available upon request and will include:
- Managing the Fleet Maintenance system
- Diagnosing, maintaining and servicing a range of mainly European and Japanese trucks
- Maintenance of front end loaders, trailers and excavators
- Maintenance of skip, hook and compactor bodies.
- Maintenance of fixed plant – conveyors/screens
- Liaising with maintenance and parts suppliers to review their performance against targets
- Completing monthly maintenance forecasts and reports
- Ensure all servicing is carried out as per manufacturers specifications
- Booking in servicing and other works with mechanics, electricians and other trades.
- Liaise with truck schedulers to take trucks off the road for maintenance and notify when complete.
- Order service kits and other parts as required by the contractor mechanic in a timely manner.
- Identifying solutions to assist in achievement of site maintenance goals
- Supervising welders repairing and building new bins.

Requirements for the Position
In order to be successful in this position, you will need to have:
- Mechanical Trade certificate (essential)
- HR License (desirable)
- Spare Parts experience – preferably with heavy vehicles
- Good mechanical knowledge
- Be able to build a good repour with drivers and trades
- Be able to manage multiple priorities
- Basic Microsoft Office experience.
