Mine Geologist
We are seeking a Mine Geologist for a role at our Mineral Hill mine near Condobolin NSW. We are a lifestyle and family friendly mine site offering an 8:6 roster with accommodation assistance available.
Mineral Hill has successfully restarted operations and gold production and is transitioning from tailings reclaim and processing to Open Pit and Underground mining and production over the next 18 months.
Reporting to the Geology Superintendent, you will be a highly motivated and disciplined Mine Geologist with a production focus, capable of coordinating the day-to-day site geology activities.
Duties
- Accurate sampling, interpretation, communication, and documentation of geological data
- reconciliation of ROM stockpile
- Accurate collection of geological information to optimise metal extraction
- Manage the accurate compilation of both surface and underground mapping and geological interpretation for all active production areas
- Ensure that daily ore production data is accurately reported on time
- Provide the key inputs required for the completion of weekly and monthly reporting of geological activities addressing performance of planning model against mill and mine outputs
- Ensure that open pit and underground mapping is accurate and up to date
- Management of open pit and underground grade control drilling and related activities to ensure the smooth turnover of grade data, including liaising with drilling and assaying contractors
- maintenance of current open pit geology ore & structural wireframes
- Provide assistance to underground resource development and grade control drilling programmes
- Ensure proper and accurate demarcation of ore after blasting
- Provide a positive attitude in driving a proactive safety culture within the mine geology team and direct contractors
Skills and Experience
- Relevant tertiary degree in Geology
- Minimum 2 years' experience in production geology
- Exposure to 3D Mining Software (Surpac preferably)
- Excellent time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Current unrestricted NSW C class licence
