Due to a strong pipeline of work an opportunity exists for a self-motivated and talented Senior/Associate Geotechnical Engineer/Engineering Geologist to join the Geotechnical Engineering Department. Candidates must possess a safety focused, positive mindset. The successful candidate shall be enthusiastic, practical, and resourceful, take pride in their work, and be punctual, reliable, hardworking and able to work in a flexible and fast paced environment. They will be mentored and supported by experienced Principal Geotechnical Engineers
Duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Working to Quality, Safety and Environmental Management Systems
- Preparation of tenders and subsequent project management
- Planning and undertaking field investigations
- Mentor, coordinate with and assist other engineers and staff to carry out project tasks
- Coordinating and undertaking site inspections/tests/monitoring services for construction sites
- Analysis and problem solving using software which may include Slope/W, Circly and Plaxis
- Write quality factual, interpretive and design technical reports
To be considered for this role you must meet the following criteria:
- 8 to 10+ years' professional experience
- Possess tertiary qualifications in Geotechnical Engineering, Geology or other relevant field, attained from an accredited Australian institution, or equivalent Engineers Australia accredited qualification
- Either possess, or be able to apply for with support, CPeng accreditation
- Hold, and maintain for the duration of employment, a current Australian driver's license
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Be able to work autonomously and/or within a team environment
- Proven experience conducting geotechnical investigations and writing reports
- Be a generalist, however a Subject Matter Expert in one or more Geotechnical Engineering disciplines would be an asset
Fieldwork will generally be Newcastle/Lower Hunter based although travel within greater NSW and occasional overnight stays, may be required.
