We are currently seeking an experienced Planning Engineer to join our team and provide technical advice to the Woodie Manganese Operations, situated 407kms south - east of Port Hedland in the Pilbara.
Working in an autonomous role and reporting to the Senior Engineer, the successful applicant will be responsible for:
Prepare weekly plan including haulage and waste dumps
Develop reports and metrics to communicate weekly plan using Deswik
Monitor mine performance on a monthly basis through the tracking of production physicals versus budget and forecast; and adjust weekly schedule accordingly
Assist in compiling mine designs to meet weekly plan and drill/blast requirements
Track compliance to the plan/s
Providing technical input into the mining process
Issue mine plans to the key stakeholders for review
Liaise with members of the Technical Services, Geotech, Mining and Environment departments to ensure alignment between long term and short-term strategies / targets / constraints
Monitor and support analysis of plan compliance, efficiencies and identify opportunities for optimisation
Effectively communicate planning outcomes
Identification and evaluation of value-adding opportunities
Develop, implement and actively promote systems, policies and procedures to facilitate the operation’s activities to meet schedule, scope, cost and quality specifications
Strive for continuous improvement by identifying and implementing better ways to complete tasks
Operational understanding of drill and blast activities
The requirements to be successful in this role are:
Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering
Previous experience in Mine Planning and scheduling within an open pit environment
High attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills
Advanced computer skills, with MS Suite, Surpac, and MineSched or Deswik
Experience with Whittle would be an advantage
