Position: Senior Mine Planning Engineer- Underground
Location: Perth, WA
Salary: $185K + super 7.5% - 15% bonusAbout the Role:
As a Senior Mine Planning Engineer you will play a crucial role in optimising mining operations through strategic planning, design and scheduling for our clients' new start up project. You will be responsible for the design and optimisation of mine plans of various lengths, utilising industry standard software to model resources and simulate extraction processes. You will lead and coordinate a team of engineers, ensuring collaborative development and execution of mine plans while adhering to operational requirements, geotechnical constraints and safety standards. Your expertise will be essential in communicating technical information to stakeholders through reports and presentations and in promoting continuous improvement of operations.
Key Responsibilities:

• Develop short, medium and long-term mine plans, ensuring optimal underground development, stope designs and mining methods
• Prepare underground mine development and production schedules that includes supervising teams of engineers, coordinating Mining Engineering activities with teams, surveyors, geologists and contractor teams
• Monitor day- to day mining operations and equipment
• Provide mine designs, schedules and reviews for underground capital and mine planning cost budgets and forecasts

Key Criteria:

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or related discipline
• 7+ years' experience in underground mining operations
• 2+ years in a senior mine planning role
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• Strong understanding of relevant legislation and regulations
• Skills in mine planning and scheduling software Deswik (& Deswik IS)
• Licenses and Qualifications: Current WA C- Class Driver's License + First Class Mine Managers ticket (or experience to qualify)
