The combined acquisitions of Darlot Gold Mine and King of the Hills Mining Project provide an extensive strategic footprint in the Leonora - Leinster mineral district of Western Australia and the ability to leverage this position by pursuing a regional consolidation strategy aimed at establishing the King of the Hills project as a central processing hub.
Due to continued growth Darlot Gold Mine is now recruiting for the below roles to join their technical team.
Underground Mining Engineer
This role is offered on 8 days on 6 days off roster and is Fly in Fly out from Perth.
Key responsibilities include:
• Deliver practical drill and charge plans to operations to meet and exceed targets
• Undertake design production and project work for operations for rigs
• Provide engineering support to operational staff
• Participate in stope shapes, notes and reconciliations for improvements in drill and blast methods and effective extraction
• Consistently demonstrate and reflect behaviours, actions and attitudes in line with the company’s Vision, Values and Code of Ethics
Key factors to your success include;
• A strong safety ethic and the ability to positively promote safety
• Possess a BEng degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent
• Previous experience in an Underground Drill and Blast role
• Experience with i-konTM II and eDev II blasting, Shotplus and Deswik UGDB software packages are required
• Experience in leading teams in an overseas environment
• Experience in designing for Epiroc ME7C and ME6 rigs
• Multilingual in languages other than English
Planning Engineer
This role is offered on 8 days on 6 days off roster and is Fly in Fly out from Perth.
Key Responsibilities:
• Convert the long-term plan into a productive, safe and executable mid-term, short-term and two weekly schedule.
• Produce cost effective and practical designs for underground lateral, decline and vertical development, and project plans.
• Champion the short-term plan and take corrective action to make up for any shortfall against targets and communicate risks to plan to management.
• Provide technical assistance to Contracting company for operational requirements.
• Assist with training and relief coverage of production engineers.
• Conduct routine inspections of the underground to identify and rectify any issues that may impact achievement of the weekly and monthly schedules and schedule project work required.
Your current experience:
• Bachelor in Mining Engineering is essential.
• At least 3 years underground mining engineer experience.
• Hard rock mining experience in various mining methods
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Competent user of Deswik UGDB, CAD, Scheduler software
• Experience in teaching mining engineering courses
• Critical Risk Management Training
• Multilingual in languages other than English
