We are currently seeking a Mine Planning Engineer to join our Underground Mining team at Sunrise Dam Gold Mine.
Reporting to the Underground Mine Planning Superintendent, this role is responsible for the delivery of mine plans and schedules in a safe and efficient manner, utilizing industry best practice.
This position is offered on an 8/6 FIFO roster, flying directly to site from Perth or Kalgoorlie.
Accountabilities:
- Be a visible and active safety leader.
- Deliver mine designs, stope designs and other plans supporting the monthly to two-year integrated planning horizon to a high quality, with consideration for the safety and well-being of others.
- Support the interface between the rolling three-monthly, three-weekly, and daily planning horizons, in addition to the interface between the two-year integrated and life-of-mine plan.
- Identify and implement initiatives to improve on best practice in the underground operations, as part of the Full Asset Potential and OE800 Business Improvement programs.
- Involvement in projects by helping coordinate various capital infrastructure projects, in addition to the rollout of new technologies and software solutions.
- Support operational execution of mine plans.
About You
People are at the heart of everything we do. We want you to collaborate with us, share your ideas and feel confident to challenge the status quo. To be considered, we would like to see you have:
- A Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering or related discipline
- Prior experience underground and demonstrating exposure to drill and blast plus mine ventilation
- Competency in mining software applications used for planning and scheduling, with Deswik very well regarded (but not essential). Be proficient in a range of other software application such as Microsoft Office. The working environment will involve other task specific softwares like Ventsim, Pumpsim, Power BI, and other Microsoft Office packages.
- A proactive work ethic with strong analytical skills and enjoy working as part of a dynamic team to solve challenges.
- Good communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Existing and ongoing Permanent work rights in Australia
