Mining Engineer

Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer you would be accountable for developing daily and weekly schedules that are in-line with the monthly schedule and will achieve monthly targets. This is to be completed through detailed planning, engaging stakeholders, understanding of monthly schedules, projects and costs, dump construction methodologies and long-term strategies. Driving processes that involve validating inputs and reconciling previous performance is the responsibility of the engineer and an integral part of the planning process to ensuring the most efficient plan can be developed. These include the short-term dump design process and weekly reconciliation process.

About the role:

• Key contact between technical, production and external stakeholders.
• Process owner for production design work including field inspections, document management, reconciliation and feedback to key stakeholders.
• Responsible for creation and facilitation of weekly and daily schedules which meet longer term objectives.
• High level of data integrity, ensuring reconciliation of actual production data.
• Involvement with production efficiency projects, utilising data to provide innovative and sound technical advice.

Roster and Location:

15 days on, 13 days off

Based at McArthur River Mine, NT.

About You:

Bachelor of Engineering majoring in Mining or similar relevant tertiary qualification from a recognised tertiary institution.

Demonstrated knowledge of Mining Engineering systems in open pit metalliferous mines that includes a minimum of three years' experience.

Previous experience with mine design and scheduling software (Vulcan, Deswik)
