Mining Supervisor, you will play a vital role in overseeing mining activities, ensuring safety, productivity, and efficiency targets are met. This role offers a unique opportunity for individuals currently working in different departments within the mining industry who are seeking to transition into a supervisory role.Work Location: Solomon
- Fortescue's Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples.
Roster: 7D/7N/14X FIFO Perth or Busselton
Key Responsibilities- Supervise mining operations in an open pit mining environment.
- Uphold safety, health, and environmental standards, fostering a culture of compliance and accountability.
- Lead and mentor a team of operators and technicians, driving continuous improvement and professional development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise production schedules and resource utilization.
- Monitor equipment performance, identifying maintenance needs and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure regulatory compliance.
Qualifications and Experience- Minimum of 2 years' experience working in the mining industry, with the ability to attain a schedule 26 supervisor appointment.
- Tertiary qualifications in mining engineering, geology, or a related field are preferred but not essential.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Commitment to safety leadership and compliance, with a proactive approach to risk management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and empower team members.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a results-oriented mindset.
- Flexibility to work on a 2-week-on, 2-week-off roster.
