Attention Powerhouse Couples! Exciting dual opportunities are available with our client, a prestigious family-owned and operated Mixed Farming enterprise. They are seeking a dynamic duo to fill two key roles within their operations. The enterprise manages 30,000 acres of agricultural farming land and also maintains an 800-breeder herd of Angus and a 1,000-head feedlot. Their farming practices cover both dryland and pivot irrigation cropping, cultivating a diverse range of crops such as wheat, barley, cotton, sorghum, and chickpeas.
Position 1: Experience Mixed Farm Hand - Join a dedicated and passionate team where you'll operate cutting-edge John Deere machinery equipped with GPS and a range of tow-behind implements. Your role will encompass all facets of crop production, from land preparation to harvesting.
Requirements:
- Experience with John Deere
- Proficiency in operating earth-moving machinery
- Expertise in dryland & irrigation cropping
- Comprehensive cattle operation knowledge from breeder cattle to feedlot
- Truck license & Chemcert highly favourable
- Mechanical & welding abilities
- Strong work ethic with a positive attitude
Position 2: All-Rounder/Caretaker - This multifaceted role combines caretaking responsibilities with hands-on farming tasks, promising varied and rewarding daily activities.
Requirements:
- Ability to operate machinery for slashing & mowing
- Gardening experience
- Caring for animals when owners are away
- Experience with checking and fixing fences
- Checking water
- Ability to assist with farming operations
- Excellent communication & self-starter
