Requisition ID: REQ494788Applications close: 2 July 2024What you'll be doingThe position of Registered NurseMovement Disorders is an exciting opportunity whereby the successful applicant will be supported through various avenues to build their capacity and understanding of Movement Disorders.The overall aim of the introduction of this innovative role is to build capacity and capability within the Movement Disorders Workforce of the MNCLHD.The role is based within the Brain Injury Service at Coffs Harbour and is part of the district Movement Disorders Team.The position will work with key stakeholders internally, and external service partners such as Parkinson’s NSW, Westmead Hospital, and other service partners.The role of the Movement Disorders Nurse is twofold:1) In conjunction with the CNC2 Parkinson disease and Movement Disorders, care for people with a movement disorder including working with their carers;
2) Undertake supported study in order to gain knowledge of evidence-based approaches to interventions (inclusive of physical, psychological and psychosocial challenges).Salary will be accordance with NSW Health State Awards for the advertised classification/s. • Current Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
• Demonstrated nursing skills, knowledge and ability relevant to the area within an outpatient and/or acute hospital setting.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team, including the ability to work across discipline boundaries.
• Proven clinical problem-solving skills to maximise patient care.
• Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to plan and coordinate patient care in a multidisciplinary team environment providing outcome-based care.
• Understanding of the management of clients with complex needs, particularly in the community setting.
• Current unrestricted Driver’s License and ability to travel as required.
