Mud Crab Operation Technical Support Officer

We are seeking a Technical Support Officer to work at our Mud Crab operation based in Humpty Doo. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth functioning and success of the operation.

What will you be doing?

1. Support management in the professional delivery of stock management and quality assurance as required.
2. Provide Technical Support to the business operations which includes assisting with product supply and maintenance of Mud Crabbing camps and facilities.
3. Maintain regular communication with Mud Crab operators to ensure their needs are met.
4. Support management with technical operations of the Aboriginal Sea Company.
5. Transporting and delivering product weekly, sometimes on non-sealed roads.

What experience do you need?

1. Proven experience of working in the Seafood / Maritime industry.
2. General knowledge and understanding of a Mud Crab operation.
3. Demonstrate strong level of cross-cultural, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively liaise, engage and coordinate across a wide range of constituents and external stakeholders.
4. Proven experience and skills to work unsupervised and manage work tasks.
5. Experience in transport and delivery. 
6. Current NT C- class Drivers Licence or equivalent and the ability to travel by light aircraft and off-road vehicles, including to remote communities.
7. Ability to travel weekly to remote communities. 

Bonus experience and skills 

1. Qualifications in Maritime transportation operations.
2. A current forklift licence or the ability to obtain one 
3. A current HR licence or the ability to obtain one. 
4. Previous experience in commercial Mud Crabbing / fishing
