The opportunity:
Council is recruiting to fill our Multi-Skilled Plant Operator & Labourer vacancy in our Warroo (Surat & Surrounds) operating area.
About you:
You will excel as a valued team member, demonstrating your capacity to collaborate within a high-achieving team committed to safety and excellence in work practices.
Key responsibilities
- Abilityto perform manual handling and labouring duties for extended periods in directsunlight, working in difficult terrain, walking on uneven ground, prolongedsitting whilst operating plant / machinery hand and foot controls.
- Abilityto safely operate a variety of mobile plant and equipment within a construction/maintenanceenvironment, in particular, the use of a Roller and heavy combination vehicle.
- Demonstratedability to construct and maintain Council’s sealed and unsealed roads and otherassets to agreed service level standards and design specifications.
- Abilityto follow direction and complete tasks within allocatedtimeframes to required standards.
- Intermediateleadership skills with the ability to provide direction to the constructionsite team.
- Demonstratedability to work productively both within a team environment and unsupervised.
About working with Council:
- Surat, Qld
- Full time, permanent position - 38 hours per week
- Fortnightly Rostered Days Off
- 5 weeks annual leave
- 15 days personal leave
About you:
To be successful you will need to demonstratethat you meet the below mandatory requirements for the role:
- CurrentC (Car) Class Driver Licence (mandatory)
- Current HC (Heavy Combination) Class Driver Licence (mandatory)
- GeneralConstruction Induction (White) Card (mandatory)
- Verification of Skills Level to Competently Operate Mobile Plant (Water Truck and Roller) (In-House Assessment)
- RIIWHS302D– Implement Traffic Management Plan (Desirable)
- CertificateIII in Civil Construction – Road Construction and Maintenance (or equivalent)(Desirable)
