We are recruiting now for a full time Program coordinator for Queensland Wide ILC Social and Community Participation Grant Funding program awarded jointly to Karakan and Selectability in 2024 for a period of two years, completing in 30.06.2026. The regions that Karakan will cover are: Greater Brisbane, Gold Coast, Ipswich, Caboolture and Toowoomba. The aim of the program is to work with and empower local organisations, community leaders, stakeholders and young people across the programs geographical footprint to better foster accessibility, inclusion, and participation of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) and First Nations Youth with Psychosocial Disabilities.
This role has the best of both experiences : leading and supporting a small team of multicultural support navigators to provide quality outcomes for young people as well as being hands on and providing this support navigation service in a localised area. The focus of the program is to work directly with multicultural young people and their families to help facilitate culturally-appropriate connections and access to mainstream community supports, services and activities that enable social and economic inclusion and participation.
Key responsibilities will be:-
- Lead and support small team of multicultural support navigators
- Identify engage and work with a caseload of young people from targeted cohort and their families
- Work with community stakeholders and young people to host and facilitate community opportunities that support inclusion and participation
- Monitor program outcomes and work collaboratively with regional counterparts
To be successful in this role you will have extensive experience and proven success in the following areas:-
- Engagement and support of young people in a community context
- Working with Multicultural communities
- Community development and/or community/stakeholder engagement responsibilities
- Leadership and coordination of a team
- Responsibility and achievement delivering positive and measurable outcomes in a community program and/or case management role
