McArthur are seeking policy, program, secretariat and evaluation officers between APS6 and EL2 levels. We have 16 non-ongoing available positions across these levels for our federal government client.
As part of a federal government department, the Community Policy and Engagement Group support communities in Australia by engaging, partnering, developing and delivering initiatives to:
- disrupt and tackle entrenched disadvantage
- improve social and economic participation in communities
- help build inclusive, cohesive and resilient communities
- improve the government's awareness and capability in partnering with communities, and
- close the gap on disadvantage of our First Nation people, through actions within the portfolio.
The ideal candidates:
- have the ability to lead high-performing teams,
- are leaders with proven abilities in working with others,
- have good stakeholder, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders,
- have a proven ability to maintain a culture of collaboration in the pursuit of achieved results,
- have demonstrated critical thinking skills,
- are a problem solver with the know how to turn the ideas into actions that respond to challenges, with an understanding of how to responsibly engage and manage risk
- have strategic and environmental awareness and ability to drive an evidence-based policy agenda with strong strategic and analytical skills
- have personal drive and integrity, a strong work ethic, ability to work independently and thrive in dynamic and changing circumstances.
- have an understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples, and/or have an ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples.
