About the position
UHE seeks highly motivated and suitably qualified academic teaching staff for the position of Lecturers in Engineering Management. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an innovative higher education college and to shape the development of new teaching and learning environments.
As a UHE Lecturer, you will contribute to a vibrant, collegial and internationally engaged UHE academic community. You will undertake teaching and in UHE’s Postgraduate Engineering Management course, working to ensure high standards in student experience and outcomes. You will also be supported to engage in a culture of scholarship and to contribute to the ongoing development of UHE’s academic offerings.

Key responsibilities
Working with the Program Coordinator of Master of Engineering Management towards the vision of the Engineering division, the UHE Lecturer (Engineering Management) will:
- Provide teaching, assessment and guidance for students, including delivering lectures and seminars, in line with UHE's Master of Engineering Management program materials and teaching and learning plans.
- Undertake student consultation to support learning.
- Undertake other academic duties (for example, tutorials, industry placement liaison and support for students) required to sustain the delivery of high quality teaching.
- Develop lecture material and assessments
- Ensure that student feedback and peer advice on teaching is sought and responded to constructively.
- Engage in ongoing professional development, maintaining a broad knowledge of current research and scholarship to ensure that teaching meets expected standards.
- Support and comply with UHE’s quality assurance procedures.
- Participate in staff meetings and outreach activities such as open days, and contribute to any college committees to which appointed.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements in all aspects of work.
- Uphold UHE values in all aspects of work and engage in campus scholarly life.
Appointments to the position of Lecturer may also involve specific roles in the division as required by the Program Coordinator.
Required skills and qualifications
- Qualification in Engineering PhD. All subject specialisations within the Master of Engineering Management are welcomed, while noting that the position of Lecturer may be required to teach across the course curriculum. Subjects may include but not limited to:

- Demonstrated teaching and working experience in Engineering Management studies, within a continuous improvement framework.
- Experience with both on campus and e-learning teaching environments will be viewed favourably.
- Demonstrated track record of, and ongoing commitment to, academic work and scholarship in Engineering Management studies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder skills.
- Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills.
- Demonstrated industry networks and experience will be viewed favourably.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate developments in the curriculum, delivery and student experience will be viewed favourably.
