Brisbane Boys College (BBC) is an established GPS day and boarding school. The school was founded in 1902 by Mr. Arthur Rudd, who had a vision of moulding boys to be worthy leaders and good citizens – a vision that remains today. The College occupies 13-hectare site four kilometres from the centre of Brisbane and educates boys from Prep to Year 12.
About the role:
Brisbane Boys' College has a proud tradition of Music and Music Excellence and is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Music Teacher (.7 FTE) for a short-term assignment. Commencing 22 July to 30 August 2024. This position is one of classroom teaching for Years 7 - 10
This fixed term position will have a direct line of responsibility to the Acting Head of the Arts
Selection Criteria
- Provide expertise within their relevant teachingarea and syllabus.
- Maintain adequate records of courses, assessments, and programs.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver quality and effective teaching and learning programs which are consistent with the needs of students, the Australian Professional Standards for teachers, relevant syllabi, curriculum policies, work programs, educational trends and in harmony with the mission, vision, and purpose of the College.
- Work in a collaborative environment, sharing and developing teaching practice and resources with a departmental team under the guidance of the Acting Head of Department.
- Follow the teaching practices of the College as outlined in the Pedagogical Framework.

- Comply with College policies, procedures and training requirements, including those related to occupational health and safety, risk management, child protection, and confidentiality.
- Positively support the College’s traditions and Christian ethos.
- All teaching staff must maintain current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.
