My First Gym - Head Coach

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Head Coach to lead our team and inspire young children to develop healthy habits, build confidence, and enjoy an active lifestyle. As the Head Coach, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our Figtree and Shellharbour centers, managing a team of coaches, and delivering high-quality programs that align with our mission, vision and values.

Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and guidance to a team of coaches, ensuring they deliver exceptional programs and maintain a safe environment for children.
• Developing, rewarding and retaining all coaches through effective performance management and performance reviews.
• Leading by example and providing support and cover to your team when required
• Collaborate closely with the management team to ensure alignment of goals, vision, and strategies for MyFirstGym Figtree and Shellharbour.
• Participate in meetings and contribute valuable insights and ideas to improve the overall customer experience and business operations.
• Actively participate in the recruitment, training, and onboarding of new coaching staff.
• Collaborate with the management team to develop and execute marketing strategies to attract and retain clients.
• Develop and implement age-appropriate fitness and skill-building programs that cater to the unique needs and abilities of children.
• Conduct training sessions and workshops for coaches to enhance their teaching skills, knowledge of child development, and safety protocols.
• Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere where children feel supported, encouraged, and motivated to achieve their fitness goals.
• Build strong relationships with parents and actively communicate their child's progress, challenges, and achievements.
• Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and safety guidelines to ensure the highest standard of coaching and program delivery.
• Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling, utilisation and timetable

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children in a coaching, teaching, or related role.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with children, parents, and staff effectively.
• A passion for promoting children's fitness, health, and overall well-being.
• Knowledge of child development principles and the ability to tailor programs to suit various age groups.
• Current CPR and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain them before employment).
• Reliable and organized with exceptional time management skills.
• Flexibility to work weekdays, evenings, and occasional weekends to accommodate class schedules and events.
• Valid Working with Children Check or equivalent background check (if required in your jurisdiction).
• Cert 3 and 4 in fitness (preferred but not required)
