SCEGGS Darlinghurst is an independent girls schools based in Darlinghurst, Sydney that caters to students ranging from Kindergarten through to Year 12.
The school is currently seeking to appoint a passionate Head Coach of Netball to work casually within the co-curricular sporting program. With a strong focus on quality and safety, the Head Coach will provide quality mentoring and coaching to enhance and develop students’ technical skills and game knowledge in order to reach their individual potential both as athletes and young people.
SCEGGS enters both the IPSHA and IGSA Saturday morning competitions through Terms 2 & 3 with training sessions occurring before and after school throughout the week.
The Head Coach should actively work to encourage and promote Netball within the SCEGGS community. To promote Netball as an enjoyable, healthy sport for people of all ages and abilities in a safe and friendly environment. Foster and encourage good sportsmanship amongst all participants. Work towards promoting each of the SCEGGS Sports Values.
Duties to include but not limited to:
- Overseeing marking of rolls, transport, training sessions, especially in the absence of PDHPE teachers
- Organisation and running of trials and team selections
- Coaching students – primary & secondary ages
- Program development and putting together resources across Years 2 - 12
- Writing articles for school newsletter to promote players, teams, netball in general
- Seeking opportunities for competition eg sports exchange with other schools
- Assisting with coach mentoring and development
- Attending all coaching sessions and assist with coaching
- Assisting PDHPE staff with recruitment of coaches
- Any other duty that may be of benefit to the Netball program
Approximately 15 hrs per week during school terms in Terms 1, 2 & 3.
