Metropolitan Youth Health provides free clinical health services (primarily for physical health issues) to young people aged 12-25, with a focus on under 18 years, in the Adelaide metropolitan-wide community.
Metropolitan Youth Health work with extremely vulnerable young people under the Guardianship of the CE, young people who have had contact with Adelaide Youth Training Centre, refugees, LGBTIQ identifying youth, young Aboriginal people and young pregnant or parenting people who would not normally access mainstream services
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists within Metropolitan Youth Health to join us as a Community Nurse.
Role Responsibilities:
- Responsible for providing advanced nursing and quality client centred nursing and/or midwifery care to clients their families and communities.
- Leadership and management of nurses in the community health service
- Support and facilitate training for students/trainees, new staff and staff with less experience.
- Plan and coordinate services with other disciplines or agencies to meet health care needs.
- Work collaboratively with clients in the development of individual case management care/treatment plans using a client centred framework.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) with a current practicing certificate.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with individuals and families, as well as interdisciplinary teamwork.
- Proficiency in providing clinical nursing care in a healthcare setting.
- Ability to engage with people from diverse cultural and social backgrounds.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
- Minimum 3 years of post-registration experience as a Registered Nurse and Midwife.
- Leadership skills in guiding and directing less experienced nursing staff and students.
- Knowledge of contemporary evidence-based nursing practices, primary healthcare principles, and continuous improvement.
