The New Acland Coal Mine (NAC), a thin seam open cut mining operation is owned and managed by New Hope Group. NAC is based 35km north-west of Toowoomba and plays a key role in the Darling Downs region as an employer and economic contributor since it began operation in October 2002.

About the role:
As NAC continues to progress, we are now seeking a limited number of New to Industry Mineworkers, to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis. Working a 7/7 day / night rotating roster and reporting to the Mining Supervisor, you will be responsible for the safe, productive, and efficient operation of a variety of mobile mining equipment.
The fleet of equipment at NAC includes Hitachi EX3600 & EX5600 excavators; CAT 785, 789 & 793 trucks; CAT D10 & D11 dozers; CAT 16H & 24H graders, LeTourneau 1150 & 1350 loaders and CAT 992 loaders.
To be considered for these opportunities you will bring:
Experience in mining is NOT essential. NAC is keen to meet with candidates who reside locally and are enthusiastic, motivated, and willing to learn about a successful career in the mining industry. Working closely with other key mining operation teams, the Production Mineworker plays a pivotal role in ensuring safe coal production and coal delivery.

To be successful in this role, it is important that you have:
- A strong safety mindset with ability to actively identify and report hazards/incidents
- Excellent communication skills
- Enthusiasm to positively contribute to site culture and work as a team
- High attention to detail and precision in executing tasks
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Ability to undergo and pass a coal board medical
- Ability to work a rotating 7/7 day/night roster including weekends and night shift
- The ability to contribute to and work as part of team in a fast-paced environment
