Job description

  • Engage, empower and lead a team of Managers and Assessors
  • Execute the assessing strategy for recommended repairers
  • Located at one of our Motor Claims Hubs; Eagle Farm (QLD), Essendon Fields or Mt Waverly (VIC)

This role is responsible for driving exceptional customer and claims outcomes as part of our National Assessing team by engaging, empowering and leading a team of Managers and Assessors to operationalise the National Assessing strategy for our Recommended repairers (SMART/Contract/SPIRA).

The role will engage and work collaboratively with department and Motor Claims peers to acquire and integrate insights relating to best practice assessing and best in class customer experience, to ensure Motor Claims delivers exceptional customer and cost outcomes.

Additionally, the role drives the operational co-ordination of pre-settlement Total Loss activity via triage teams and Valuation Specialists, ensuring accurate, fair, and efficient claim outcomes.

This is a 12-month secondment opportunity.

What you'll do

  • National accountability for assessed cost, claims management and customer outcomes across motor claims (~350,000 per year), for the relevant group of work (jobs at Recommended repairers)
  • Leadership of ~70-90 FTE to achieve results through geographic dispersion across the nation
  • Execute the National Assessing strategy to deliver best in class claims outcomes by leveraging and operationalising investments in people, data, digital and technology
  • Contribute to the development of the operational goals and budget plans for the motor claims portfolio, through close liaison with National Assessing leadership team, business performance and finance functions
  • Single point of triage co-ordination across national total loss direct sites, ensuring co-ordinated bestpractice in support of National Assessing model, including speed and accuracy
  • Drive the financial and operational success of the department through the management and improvement of operating costs, claims handling expenses, life of claim measures and Assessor productivity, while balancing customer outcomes

What you'll bring

  • Demonstrated management experience within insurance claims or large-scale operational teams
  • Commercial experience in insurance or financial services, ideally with exposure across all parts of the claims value chain
  • Deep knowledge of the Motor claims, assessing and repair industry
