About the business

Our client is a renowned Australian-owned business, operating as a major player within the premium food sector. With history dating back 100’s of years, starting upon the Mediterranean farming and organic way of life, this company prides themselves on their values and beliefs, with ethical practise and locally sourced produce at the forefront of their success and continued growth. With an exciting opportunity identified to further grow within the Independent Grocery sector, they are now searching for their next star National Channel Manager to join their business and directly contribute to the foreseeably bright future ahead.
 
About the role

Reporting to the Sales Director, this role will be instrumental in driving the growth of the national independents channel, specific to larger MSO groups and speciality independents. You will be working across the total brand and product portfolio with a major responsibility to drive the significant growth agenda for Independents. You will also be responsible for setting up, driving, and activating best practise sales processes including Joint Business Planning management, the management of range reviews, promotional planning as well as driving new business initiatives and practise. With a solid plan set in place for major financial growth, you will be joining a directorate who take pride in their passion for quality, fine foods and understand the benefits their products can bring to the market. You will also have direct responsibility for managing a team of 3 State Account Managers.

Skills & Experience

Success in this role will come from demonstrated experience as a National Account or Channel Manager within the FMCG industry, with proven capabilities in building relationships with key independent accounts, a strong understanding of categories and sales plans and the ability to build retail programs for both every day and promotional sales. This role would suit someone who thrives on creating and presenting opportunities in a hands-on role, where passion to win customers and consumers is front of mind. You would enjoy a fast-paced, exciting environment and have a proven skillset in managing a wide range of sku’s and brands across the independent channel.
