The Position
The NDIS Advisor actively supports AEIOU Foundation families in navigating their NDIS funding throughout the duration of a child’s enrolment, ensuring they obtain reasonable and necessary funding for their child.
Responsibilities will include: - Supporting families to secure individualised funding for reasonable and necessary supports (including upon enrolment and at each plan review stage)
- Developing and delivering programs and resources that will help families navigate the NDIS with confidence
- Monitoring and reporting on developments within the NDIS that may impact AEIOU
- Establishing and maintaining positive, engaging relationships with families during the enrolment process up to and including the offer process, with follow up once the child is enrolled.
- Supporting families to develop the skills and confidence they need to navigate the NDIS and early years of an autism diagnosis in the ECEI space.
About you:
- Knowledge of, or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of NDIS Early Intervention Early Childhood Space and how this impacts AEIOU clients and the organisation
- Be an articulate communicator and an excellent negotiator
- Excellent computer literacy and report writing skills
- Ability to read and evaluate research articles and interpret legislation
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage competing deadlines.
- Have your COVID-19 Vaccination certificate (double-dosed) or an approved Government Exemption
- Have a current Paid Blue Card (or able to obtain before commencement)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check required if your Blue Card was applied for or renewed post 1 February 2021
- Unrestricted open drivers license (some travel to centres required)
