The Role & The Team
As a leader within the Network Operations Management Centre (NOMC) unit, you will lead assigned portfolios and achieve associated deliverables through effective people leadership and informed decision making.
Reporting to the Network Operations Manager, you will:
- Supervise and lead Network Operations services in a 24 hour shift working environment, managing the operational delivery of:
- Strategic and Pre-Tactical Air Traffic Flow Management (ATFM) to balance network demand and capacity
- Flight Planning solutions
- Aeronautical Information Services
- Collaborative Decision Making
- Management of abnormal events (business continuity, crisis and disruption events)
- Provide Operational Supervision through:
- Effective resource allocation on day of operations
- Quality control of NOMC service delivery
- Management of operational staff
- First responder in NOMC Business Disruption
- Floor warden responsibilities / Chief warden responsibilities (out of hours)
- Form an integral part of the Network Planning and Optimisation branch and leadership teams.
- Lead a high-performing and accountable team; and
- Continue to deliver Airservices' record of Safety, Environmental, WHS, Risk and Compliance excellence.
The Person
The successful applicant will have:
- Extensive experience in a senior operational decision-making role in a safety-critical transportation environment and team leadership experience.
- Operational training and assessor qualification.
- Ability to work within twenty-four hour/seven days a week-operating environment.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills.
- Excellent decision-making skills with the ability to make prompt, clear decisions which may involve tough choices or considered risks.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to form good relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances, new ideas and new technology.
Security Clearance
