Fresh Markets Australia (FMA) is a national organisation that represents each of the six Market Chambers within Australia. Each market chamber is a member organisation representing its members: the fruit and vegetable wholesalers, located within their central market. There are six central Markets - Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Newcastle.
About the role
Reporting to the General Manager, this role’s fundamental purpose is to oversee the multifaceted strategies of our marketing program, "A Better Choice." This generalist role requires comprehensive expertise across stakeholder management and compliance.
Relationships are imperative across many stakeholder groups and key partners who believe and lead ‘A Better Choice’ in their day-to-day existence.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Communication: Serve as the primary liaison between the "A Better Choice" program and key internal committees, ensuring clear and consistent communication of program capabilities, updates, and strategic initiatives to Committees, internal teams, and external stakeholders.
- Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with industry, independent retailers, and members to foster engagement and support for the program.
- Feedback Integration: Gather and integrate feedback from stakeholders into the program’s development and execution.
Public Relations:
- Industry Representation: Represent "A Better Choice" at industry forums, conferences, and public events, ensuring the program is well-promoted.
- External Communications: Develop and disseminate press releases, industry publications, and public statements to enhance the program’s visibility and reputation.
- Media Relations: Manage relationships with media outlets to ensure positive coverage and effective communication of the program’s objectives and successes.
Team Management:
- Leadership: Lead and manage a small marketing team, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities to ensure the team meets its objectives.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal committees, to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to stakeholder engagement and program execution.
- Performance Management: Set clear performance goals for team members and regularly review progress to ensure alignment with program objectives.
Program Execution Oversight:
- Strategic Planning: Oversee the implementation of the five-year strategy, annual strategic marketing and brand plan, and operational marketing plan, ensuring all activities are on track and aligned with organisational goals and review and recommend amendments as required.
- Project Management: Oversee detailed plans for marketing and engagement activities, monitor progress, and adjust strategies as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks to the program’s success and develop mitigation strategies to address them proactively.
- Reporting: Provide regular updates and comprehensive reports on program performance, milestones, and strategic direction to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
