ABOUT THE ROLE
This is an exciting time for us, as we have an opportunity for a National Programs Specialist within our Events & Operations department. If you consider yourself leading and implementing National Disability and Indoor Cricket Team programs to grow successful Australian teams and to inspire people with a disability to love and play cricket, we want to hear from you. We have big ambitions for this space, so we're looking for drive, passion, and energy to bring our plans to life.
Reporting to the Cricket Operations Manager, you'll be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing training programs for our Australian deaf and hard of hearing, blind and low vision, intellectual disability and indoor cricket teams
- Managing the appointment of national coaching and support staff for each team, including the management of a National Satellite Training Program
- Managing international tours and training camps, including all team travel and apparel requirements
- Collaborating with States and Territories to identify talent and share best practice
- Supporting the Cricket Operations team in the planning and delivery of the National Cricket Inclusion Championships and Indoor Cricket National Championships to develop talented players
- Supporting key program partners in the delivery of the national program with Deaf Sports Australia, Blind Cricket Australia, Sport Inclusion Australia, Special Olympics Australia and affiliated indoor sports bodies
- Providing strong leadership to the international disability organisations and the World Indoor Cricket Federation to support its ambitions for global growth and ICC endorsement
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Minimum 3 - 5 years experience in sports administration or high-performance sport
- Tertiary qualifications in a related field (preferred, but not essential)
- Experience in leading and managing teams
- Excellent planning and logistics skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and managing multiple and concurrent projects
- Experience working with disability groups would be advantageous
- A significant amount of travel will be required
