Sugar Australia has an exciting opportunity for a National Quality Manager to join our team in a permanent full-time capacity, based at our Yarraville, VIC site. Reporting to the General Manager Operations, this role will play a crucial part in ensuring all our products and services offered by Sugar Australia and Wilmar Ingredients are of the highest quality in order to meet our customers and regulatory requirements.
Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Developing and maintaining a National Quality management system and processes.
- Ensuring compliance with food manufacturing regulations.
- Investigating and addressing customer complaints and ensuring timely resolution.
- Overseeing and ensuring effective national change management initiatives.
- Maintaining Sugar Australia's crisis management and business continuity processes.
- Managing Sugar Australia's Quality Management System template and the development of departmental documentation.
- Ensuring accuracy of customer, product, and manufacturing specifications.
- Providing technical and quality insights into business processes including innovation, continuous improvement, and change management.
- Ensuring all of Sugar Australia's facilities are always audit ready.
- Conducting audits on Sugar Australia's standardised systems to meet internal and external expectations.
- Driving continuous improvement outcomes in quality processes.
- Maintaining third-party certifications and coordinating audits with site managers.
What we're wanting you to bring to the table:
This role is ideally suited to someone with strong leadership skills, a strategic mindset, and extensive experience in quality management within the food manufacturing industry.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in a food or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior Quality leadership role.
- Tertiary qualification in Science, Food Technology, or Microbiology (desirable).
- Internal Quality Auditor certification (desirable).
- Previous supervisory or people leadership experience.
- Excellent knowledge of regulatory requirements for food businesses.
- Experience in quality and food safety management systems implementation and auditing.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to deliver outcomes within agreed timeframes.
- Strong customer focus and motivation to overcome challenges.
