Every day, our people play a vital role in our purpose to ‘create extraordinary places, connecting and enriching communities.’ We believe extraordinary places are safe places, where everyone looks after each other’s health and wellbeing, fostering a culture of People Protecting People.

Your opportunity

Join us in a pivotal role as we integrate Scentre Group’s Life Safety policies, framework and system into our Customer Community and Destination (CCD) team. You will lead the development and embedding of our life safety management system, fostering a culture that prioritises the safety and well-being of our staff, business partners and the broader community. You will collaborate with stakeholders, provide expert guidance on health and safety, and drive continuous improvement through our annual Safety Improvement Plan. If you are passionate about safety, innovation, and making a meaningful impact, we invite you to apply and grow with us.

  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous enhancement of the CCD life safety management system, in accordance with Scentre Group’s Corporate Life Safety Policy, Framework and System.
  • Provide expert advice, support, and educational resources to operations teams, aiding in the identification and management of work health and safety risks.
  • Oversee risk registers and reporting processes to support operational teams in accurately managing risks, fostering alignment and consistency across the organisation.
  • Manage major safety incidents by providing leadership in investigations, ensuring thorough management from initiation to implementation of corrective actions, and facilitating knowledge sharing through lessons learned and best practices.

What will set you apart from the rest?

  • A passion for safety, creating safe environments and embedding a safety-first, People Protecting People safety culture.
  • Proven experience in occupational health and safety management and knowledge of work health and safety regulations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to connect and influence people at all levels and capabilities.
  • Experience in developing and embedding (through learning and development programs) WHS policies and procedures.
  • Ability to complete risk assessments and recommended fit for purpose controls and risk management strategies.
  • Incident investigation and experience liaising with regulators.

What sets us apart from the rest?

  • A collaborative, welcoming, inclusive, and supportive culture.
  • Gender-neutral parental leave – 18 weeks paid with no qualifying period.
  • Life Leave – additional five days paid leave to use however you like on top of your four weeks annual leave.
  • Diverse career paths - Opportunities to cross-skill and develop working with over seventy different professions within the team.

Our diverse and inclusive workforce is not only something we are proud of but something to which we are committed. We encourage and support our people to bring their ‘whole selves' to work every day. This is because we believe all our differences contribute to our success and ensure a workforce that reflects the customers we serve. Our commitment is backed by executive and employee-led working groups including All Abilities, LGBTI, Mental Health & Wellness and Gender Equity alongside other initiatives such as our Reconciliation Action Plan to grow our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workforce.

Should you have any questions, or want to discuss the role further, please reach out to the Talent Lead - Kylie Stephens,[email protected].
