Your new company 
Your new company is a part of NSW Government looking for a Safety & Wellbeing Manager to join their People & Culture team. This is a newly created role to allow for strategic work health safety initiatives, such as a focus on psychosocial safety and taking a proactive approach to WHS.
Your new role 
In your new role you will be responsible for:

• Lead the implementation and management of an innovative WHS framework and Safety Management System, including the strategies, policies, procedures and guidelines to drive continuous improvement in work practices and raise awareness of health and safety issues.
  
• Provide proactive and evidence-based safety and wellbeing advice and support to executives and managers to identify and resolve WHS issues, adopting a proactive and collaborative approach to minimise risk and promote compliance with regulatory requirements.
  
• Analyse and monitor WHS data to identify accident and incident trends to ensure appropriate investigation, risk management strategies and controls are implemented to address concerns and deficiencies.
  
• Evaluate the effectiveness of strategies, programs and services and make appropriate modifications to improve the effectiveness of current and future initiatives.
  
• Research and prepare advice on emerging issues, risks, best practice and develop briefing, reports and discussion papers to enable sound decision making.
  
• Partner with the business to devise WHS tools and templates that meet due diligence requirements in the context of the risk profile and comply with relevant legislation, regulations and codes of practice.
  
• Manage the team, foster professionalism and ongoing development with an emphasis on quality and client-oriented service and delivery of results.
  
• Develop and deliver WHS related training to enhance knowledge and skills in relation to injury prevention, management, and risk management to promote compliance with regulatory requirements and improve organisational outcomes.
  

What you'll need to succeed 
In order to succeed, you will ideally:

Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline and/or equivalent extensive WHS knowledge, skills and experience.

Sound knowledge and understanding of WHS related legislation and applicable Codes of Practice and Standards

Current NSW Class C Driving Licence and an ability to travel to worksites across NSW as required.
