3 month Natural Reserves Specialist position, based south of the river in WA

Hays has partnered with a large local council that is based south of the Perth metropolitan area. This council is looking for a Natural Reserves Specialist to join on a 3-month contract.
Your new role
This position will coordinate the protection, management and maintenance of natural assets within the council and reserves. This position will also coordinate the council's cemeteries, and you will provide strategic advice regarding development and management of the council's trail network. Some of the responsibilities will include but aren't limited:
- Develop and implement programs for the control of environmental agricultural biosecurity risks in reserves
- Coordinate and oversee management of the council's reserves, trails and cemeteries
- Provide environmental advice to developers, utility providers and their contractors regarding protection of natural assets
- Implement current OSH principles and practices
- Liaise with external and internal contractors, developers, ratepayers and other community members
- Participate in workplace risk assessments and the identification and control of hazards
- Tertiary qualification or extensive experience in environmental science, natural resource management or similar
- Knowledge of current environmental laws and regulations in Western Australia
- Demonstrated experience and ability to analyse problems in land management
- Knowledge of streetscape planning, landscape planning, roadside conservation management and natural resource management
- Current 'C' Class driving licence
