NaturallyGC Officer

About the team

Located within the Environment Heritage and Resilience Department, the Natural Areas Conservation team are responsible for the day-to-day management and conservation of a 13,000-hectare estate and increasing community awareness of our unique environment. This incorporates the delivery of the  NaturallyGC program which provides opportunities for the community to connect with nature through activities and events that focus on conservation, education and awareness through tree planting, citizen science, nature-based recreation, kids holiday programs, and much more. 

About your new role

Utilize your event management skills to plan and execute program activities, handle administrative duties such as customer inquiries and venue bookings and create promotional content. You will work in a collaborative team to plan and deliver key community events like the NaturallyGC Holiday Programs and the Naturally Gold Coast Festival. 

You are an individual who has a strong interest in the environment and are passionate about sharing your knowledge by facilitating educational displays and presentations and seeking out new partnership opportunities.

We're looking for people who have:

  • High level communication and interpersonal skills and community engagement experience 
  • Experience applying project and/or event management skills to develop and deliver educational programs/events 
  • Organised and work well in a fast-paced team, where you can work autonomously to prioritise tasks and meet program-specific deadlines 
  • Have a strong interest in the environment and keep up with emerging nature-based trends and are passionate about sharing your knowledge with the community 
  • The ability to work on weekends as required 
  • You have a degree or certificate in either event management and/or Certificate III Conservation and Land Management, Environmental Science, or relevant experience in coordinating and delivering environmental education programs, or event management experience 
  • Experience performing administrative tasks, using a variety of software, including SAP, Outlook, data, Excel, Eventbrite, Campaign Monitor and developing digital content is highly desirable
