NDIS DISABILITY SUPPORT WORKER

• Whitehorse, Stonnington and Boroondara areas
• Part time/ Full time/ Casual shifts available

About the role:
To facilitate and support people living with a disability in achieving individual goals and personal development strengthening their existing skills, abilities, and confidence by accessing services operated by mecwacare

Essential:

• Sound and proven experience working with people with disabilities from diverse backgrounds.
• Experience working with people with behaviors of concern and developing strategies to gain best outcomes for all.
• An ability to write plans for programs and activities and work within budgets.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for networking with clients, families and the community sector.
• An understanding or desire to learn the principles of person-centered planning and experience in transforming plans into actions.
• Understanding of Disability Act 2006 and Quality Framework for Disability Services.
• Certificate IV in Disability or equivalent
• Current First Aid level 2 and CPR
• Full Victorian Driver License
• NDIS screening check clearance
• A strong understanding of NDIS Code of Conduct and Best Practice Standards.

Desirable:

• Ability to manage and maintain daily observations and daily documentation
• An understanding or a desire to learn the principles of person-centered planning and experience in transforming plans into actions.
