The Role : 

Northern Hospital is committed to providing exceptional healthcare and specializes in maternal and newborn care. Our state-of-the-art Neonatal Unit is staffed by a dedicated team of professionals focused on delivering the highest quality care to our most vulnerable patients. We are seeking an experienced Neonatal Nurse to join our team, someone who shares our passion for making a difference in the lives of neonates and their families

  • Provide comprehensive care to neonates in a high-dependency unit, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being.
  • Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and perform necessary medical procedures under the guidance of neonatologists.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on each neonate's specific needs.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based neonatal care.
  • Support and educate parents and families, helping them understand their baby's condition, care needs, and treatment plans.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay updated with the latest in neonatal care practices and technologies.
  • Achieved high levels of patient satisfaction as measured by patient surveys by providing compassionate care and clear communication.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Completion of a recognized Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.
  • Minimum of 2 years of direct experience in a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) or similar setting.
  • Advanced certification in neonatal nursing (e.g., RNC-NIC) is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment and make critical decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on patient and family-centred care.
  • Proficiency in the use of medical technologies and software used in neonatal care.
  • Expertise in working with a team
  • The ability to offer emotional support to parents, guardians, and family members
