Kalamunda Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to establish a pool of capable, innovative, and experienced Network Administrators to support our school for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year, up until the end of Term 2, 2025. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year and up until the end of Term 2, 2025.Suitable applicants should have comprehensive knowledge of network administration within the Department of Education and an ability to work alongside staff to support school priorities.The school recognises the need to prepare students for a rapidly changing world where technology plays as increasing role in students’ everyday lives. The school has a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program, and every classroom is equipped with Interactive Whiteboards. The school utilises the department’s online learning management system, Connect, Microsoft 365 and other third-party software including Academy and Clickview. The school is also a Pilot in the Kaartdijin ProjectSuitable applicants will ideally have the ability to manage a small team of ICT staff and work alongside administration staff in supporting upcoming projects, priorities, and directions in the school. They will also work with staff in building their capacity to use technologies and provide high level technical support to ensure positive outcomes. They will ideally be proactive in their approach with strong problem solving and organisational skills. They will ideally have well-developed interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to show initiative and work with limited supervision. Skills and experience in Windows Server operating systems, Cisco networking, Fortinet firewalls, WordPress CMS and ICT security best practices would be highly desirable.Kalamunda SHS has an enviable reputation developed over 64 years of providing a quality education to all students.   • Skills and experience in administering a computer network and facilitating access to applications.
  • Knowledge of hardware, software and other information technology resources including software licensing and Information Technology copyright obligations and regulations.
  • Organisational skills with the ability to work with limited supervision and prioritise duties in a demanding environment.
  • Conceptual and analytical skills relevant to computer support.
  • Well-developed verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to consult and negotiate with users on issues relevant to network administration.
  • Well-developed written communication skills with the ability to develop and implement user-training procedures.

  • consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment;
  • obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
  • complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
  • complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement;
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
