Title: Network Engineer, Temporary - Full-time Role, 35 hours per week
Salary Range: Competitive Salary Package, subject to skills and experience.

The Information and Digital Technology Unit within the Northern Beaches Council is responsible for the delivery of services that support the operational activities of the Council, enable delivery of services to the community by the various business units and allow direct access to information and services by the community.

Our opportunity:
The key focus areas of this role include:
- Using your knowledge and demonstrated experience of networking technologies (including Cisco, Velocloud,Fortigate, Zscaler) to build and pro-actively support and the day-to-day operations of IT Infrastructure for the Councils Networks.
- Identify and develop automation opportunities leveraging tools such as Cisco DNA-Centre, and using your programming skills to build templates and scripts to complete repetitive engineering tasks.
- Identify operational and security risks in accordance with the Council’s Risk management framework and pro-actively remediate potential risks or incidents preventing unnecessary unplanned outages.
About you:
We’re looking for a pro-active person who enjoys collaborating with their peers to join our Infrastructure Operations team. You will be hands-on and bring your experience in designing, building, and deploying complex networks and network problem solving skills. You will be part of a team passionate about making a difference to our community.
We use a broad range of tools and technologies to support our Infrastructure environment. We do not expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team;
- Experience configuring and deploying Cisco switches across both data centres and admin sites.
- Good to have certifications like CCNA, CCNP.
- Experience with programming, scripting and automation tools such as DNA Centre.
- Be familiar with the ITIL Framework.
- Be familiar with Zero Trust Network Access.
