THE OPPORTUNITY
In this role, your key responsibilities will be:
Operational Support of all network, security infrastructure and communications systems
Assist with Incident, Change, Problem Management, by working to resolve escalated support calls (3rd level) or critical problems
Provide regular maintenance and support of Herbert Smith Freehills network infrastructure, including system reviews, health checks, application updates and monthly security patching
Involvement in planning and implementation of Infrastructure projects
Participate in occasional out of hours support eg. critical situations, application updates or periodic security patching
Mentor network team members and continue to develop the skill level and knowledge of Information Technology staff in order to provide high quality, effective service to Herbert Smith Freehills
Work with relevant stakeholders to develop strategies and policies that will improve the ability of the Network team to deliver a robust and high performing service to Herbert Smith Freehills.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
To be successful in this role, you will have:
3-5+ years’ experience in a similar role
Very strong understanding and experience of Cisco routing and switching (Nexus OS, Cisco IOS).
Strong Firewall experience (Checkpoint, ASA and Palo Alto)
Experience with Riverbed WAN acceleration
Experience with Cisco UCS
Experience with SDWAN
Experience with LAN / WAN protocols
Experience with Bluecoat (Proxies and packet shapers)
Experience with monitoring tools (Solarwinds, Cisco Prime and SCOM)
Experience with Cisco ISE
Experience with Cisco Wireless LAN controllers
Experience with Cloud (Azure and AWS) preferred
Solid understanding of Disaster Recovery solutions and principles
Troubleshooting, incident, problem and change management experience
Strong awareness of technology trends
Very strong customer focus, proactive with the ability to adapt, to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines
Very strong IT technical knowledge, with a good general knowledge of IT products and solutions

While the roles within the division may vary, all involve providing the very best services and systems. You may also have the opportunity to work on challenging projects across the firm.
