The Opportunity
We are seeking a Network Support Technician to support, maintain and monitor the Corporate Data network as well as the Telecommunications network.
The position is responsible for installing, commissioning and testing equipment for the above mentioned systems. Moreover, the role provides technical support and advice associated with communications equipment and liaises with internal and external customers to achieve Transgrid’s business objectives.
About you
Completion of a relevant Telecommunications Certificate IV or equivalent program, and/or equivalent relevant knowledge and extensive experience.
Completed Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or extensive relevant experience.
Requires knowledge or be willing to learn the safety and security procedures applying to communications equipment and of substation rules and procedures.
Good level of knowledge of Ethernet networks and the equipment that comprises those networks.
Good level of knowledge of working with optical networking.
Analytical skills and the ability to work independently and resolve technical problems.
Demonstrated oral and written communications skills.
Good interpersonal skills for leading staff and building relationships with customers and colleagues.
Experienced in the use of relevant network applications and systems.
A current NSW driver’s license.
Ability to work in a team environment.
