New Graduate Speech Pathologist
We are looking for a Speech Pathologist to join our experienced and enthusiastic allied health team in Southwest Sydney. With a strong focus on early childhood intervention therapy this will be a rewarding role for the right person. There will also be scope for development and diverse application of your professional skills and experience with the ability to broaden the age range of your caseload. We will work with you to tailor a caseload that best suits your clinical and career development and areas of interest.
About the role
With this being your first step into your professional career, you will be joining a Team that is highly recognised in the southwest Sydney community for providing children with the highest quality of care. Your first few months will be learning systems, applying your knowledge practically to a manageable caseload, all the while supported by a senior clinician with over ten years of experience. During this first year you will experience and developing skills in:
- Developing, implementing, monitoring and reviewing treatment plans
- Assessment and diagnosis of communication disorders
- Assessment and management of swallowing difficulties
- Coordinating with other allied health professionals and referring partners
- Provide education to clients, families and the client's community support framework.

What's On Offer:
- A supportive, passionate and friendly team culture with the group of supportive and experienced Clinicians within our two facilities at Leumeah and Campbelltown. You will be supported by staff who have worked extensively with children who have conditions of autism, down syndrome, developmental delays along with other types of syndromes and complex needs.
- You will have access to our sensory therapy gym, designed to provide a variety of sensory experiences. The therapy gym is a space where you’ll be able to assist children with the development of a variety of skills such as: balance & spatial awareness, strength, coordination, communication, fine motor skills, sensory regulation, play & social skills.
- As well as an individual therapy caseload, you will have the opportunity to contribute and run our social skills and feeding group therapy programs. Run by both our Occupational Therapy and Speech Pathology team, each group is uniquely tailored to the children attending.
- We will also provide a supportive internal professional development structure where you will be able to observe therapy and assessment sessions and have access to a supervisor on a fortnightly basis to review cases. As it is your first year, you will be assigned a clinical mentor for your first year to meet with on a regular basis to discuss cases and further your clinical skills. You will also be given a professional development budget for external courses.

- An understanding of the NDIS, including a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with individuals and their families/carers
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
- Willingness to liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure continuity of care and support needs of our participants.
- A willingness to understand and fulfill McCall Gardens' Vision, Mission, Values.
- Strong administrative skills ensuring accuracy of processes and documents.
- A practical approach to problem-solving, decision making and balancing priorities.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development within both work time and personal time, including maintaining up to date knowledge of evidence-based practice.

Essential Criteria
- University Qualified Speech Pathologist
- A current Working with Children Check
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Registration with Speech Pathology Australia on a yearly basis
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Valid Australian Driver’s License
