Reporting to the Front Office Manager, as the Night Duty Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our guests. You will be responsible for the training of all night audit team members and to oversee that all nightly processes are completed in a timely manner with a high level of accuracy. You will set the benchmark for how the night audit team will interact with the hotel guests and this will provide guests with an experience that exceeds their expectations.
Hours of work 22:30-06:30.
Position Requirements:
- Warmly welcome guests upon arrival and ensure a seamless check-in/check-out experience is delivered.
- Coordinate and oversee the running of the hotel in the absence of Senior Management.
- Must have experience in working overnights, rolling the PMS system and reconciliation of reports / accounts.
- Accommodate the requests and needs of all guests, make recommendations, upsell rooms and related services.
- Ensure preparation is completed for next day arrivals.
- Attend to Airport Shuttle, room service trays and other associated tasks.
- Answer all incoming calls promptly and pleasantly and provide appropriate assistance.
- Responsible to maintain an updated record log for all cash and valuables in the safe keeping of the Duty Managers.
- Handle and resolve any guest concerns effectively with confidence and in a professional manner.
- Check rooms, making sure any special requests are carried out accordingly.
- Be level headed to handle any emergencies within the hotel, including acting as the Chief Fire Warden and First Aid Officer.
- Provide support to all other departments as required.
You will possess:
- The ability to curate memorable experiences for our guests whilst building sincere emotional connections.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills and an eye for detail
- Impeccable grooming and presentation.
- The ability to multi-task, work under pressure and problem solve effectively.
- The flexibility to work overnights from 11pm to 7am, including public holidays and weekends.
- Experience with a hotel property management system.
- Be able to develop and mentor a positive culture within the night audit team.
- Develop and implement procedures in consultation with senior hotel management.
- A current First Aid Certificate and RSA Qualification.
