The position
Our Night Patrol Vans are supported by corporate giving, donations and sponsorship. They are specially equipped vehicles that operate 7 nights a week offering warm drinks, light refreshments, social connection, information, referral, and essential items to the community, operated by a volunteer team, drawn from 450 enthusiastic and compassionate volunteers who support those experiencing, or are at risk of homelessness.
The Night Patrol Officer is responsible for the daily operational functioning of the Night Patrol Program, volunteer support and liaising with community groups, sponsors, schools, corporate groups in relation to the promotion of the Program.
About You
To be successful, you will see this role as more than ‘just a job’ and be a natural people person who is highly organised and keen to establish networks, working with community partners and the public. You will enjoy working as part of a high functioning team, as well as working autonomously. You will have proven previous experience in a project focused or customer support related role within a program delivery and/or customer support environment.
You will show a demonstrated understanding of the crisis and long-term needs of people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
Your Qualifications
Certificate IV in Community Development/Sector related qualifications (or higher) and/or extensive, proven commensurate experience in a similar type of employment demonstrating transferable skills. If offered employment, you will be required to hold a current Driver’s Licence and undergo a National Criminal History Check (Police Check) and obtain an ACT Government Working With Vulnerable People Card (WWVP Card).
