About CatholicCare NT and the Program
CatholicCare NT is a Catholic social service agency established in the Diocese of Darwin. We provide services throughout the NT, including service centres in Darwin, Palmerston, Malak, Tiwi Islands, Daly River, Wadeye, Jabiru, Maningrida, Katherine, Tennant Creek, Alice Springs, Santa Teresa, Titjikala, Finke and APY lands.
Our Crerar Road accommodation facility provides predominately an indigenous accommodation service, comprising of a 190-bed shared hostel accommodation over two adjacent properties. The Crerar Road accommodation facility provides a home away from home experience to our participants who come to town for medical appointments, shopping, catching up with family or sporting events.
CatholicCare NT operates the Crerar Road Accommodation site seven days, twenty-four hours. Meals are included.
The full time Night Shift Supervisor will work 5.00 pm until 11.30 pm (with 30-minute unpaid break), on call 11.30 pm to 5.00 am and work 5.00 am until 8.30 am, four days per week.
About the role
The position is responsible for all site operations overnight, focusing on participant safety and security.
As the guardian of the site during the twilight hours, the position will also be responsible for after-hours bookings, guest check-ins, and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment throughout the night.
What we are looking for
- Security Licence, and Cert II in Security Operations, or willingness to obtain
- Experience conflict resolution
- High level of work health and safety practices
- Understand emergency and alarm response protocols
- Demonstrated cultural competency and experience in working with Indigenous people
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Resilience and adaptability in high-stress environments
- Use initiative, common sense and be self-motivated when working on your own
- Experience in a similar role
