Contractors - National Panel of Assessors (QLD) Supported Wage System and Ongoing Support Assessments
Overview
We are seeking to increase our team of Assessors who perform Ongoing Support Assessments (OSAs) and Supported Wage System (SWS) Assessments for the National Panel of Assessors in any of the following QLD locations:
- Gold Coast
- Toowoomba
- Brisbane
- Ipswich
The opportunity
These Contracting roles are fee for service (per assessment) and the volume of assessments are based on local demands. These roles are well suited to work alongside your current business, other part-time work or an addition to your current contracting services. Assessors who are currently on, or have recently been on, the National Panel of Assessors will be well regarded as will candidates who have a strong understanding of the disability employment sector.
Essential Qualifications
- Diploma or higher-level qualification in occupational therapy, physiotherapy, exercise physiology, psychology, rehabilitation counselling, vocational training or other field relevant to the assessment services.
- Hold a current Working with Children’s Check (Blue Card for QLD), National Criminal Check (valid within a 2-year period), Professional Indemnity Insurance and an Australian Business Number (ABN).
- Hold a current driver’s license and reliable insured vehicle as the position will involve travel.
Essential Skills and Experience
- It is mandatory to possess a minimum of two year’s practical experience in the disability employment sector, or a related field.
- Strong social and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate well to build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including people with a disability.
- Conduct interviews in a sensitive and professional manner with people from a range of backgrounds and be flexible in the delivery of the interview.
- Ability to assess barriers to employment and recommend appropriate solutions to meet the needs of workers with disability.
- Exceptional report preparation and writing skills.
- Ability to work independently to meet deadlines, and to be methodical, thorough and conscious of delivering assessment services to required quality and compliance standards.
- High level computer literacy.
