The Role
This newly created role will see you reporting to the Manager NPI & Projects where you will work in conjunction with the NPI and Project Superintendents. You will be responsible for populating the weekly maintenance work schedule for NPI Maintenance and Operations in accordance with work management processes and with a continuous improvement philosophy.
The NPI & Project Planner will also support a variety of NPI projects by developing project schedules, resource allocation, progress maintenance and budget & cost management.
This is a permanent, full time position on an 8:6 roster ex Perth to Mt Holland
Key Responsibilities
- Actively lead and participate in the establishment of a health and safety culture, leading by example, and setting the required health and safety standards.
- Develop and optimise the planned preventative maintenance system including creating maintenance frequencies and inspection checklists.
- Check all critical spares are covered and catalogued.
- Prepare and issue of project schedules, progress and performance reports, including meeting with project managers
- Utilise PM tools to identify project critical path activities and potential risks
- Contribute to the planning of required activities to ensure statutory compliance through a clear understanding of all statutory requirements and prioritising the execution of statutory work.
- Assist with populating the data for equipment, spares & BOMS in accordance with company standards & processes.
- QA/QC of work completed ensuring it was done to the desired standard to achieve the expected equipment reliability
- Monitor the performance of the NPI operations and maintenance functions against key performance indicators. Mentor trades staff in their contribution to SAP outcomes, ie work order close outs, recording history etc
- Identify risks that have the capacity to compromise NPI performance outcomes and drive resolution of these issues to mitigate any impacts to desired outcomes.
- Drive value creation across the NPI department by implementing continuous improvement in line with Operational Excellence.
- Contribute to the preparation of budgets, including personnel, capital justification and the collation of data on a systematic basis for progressive forecasting and future estimating.
- Contribute to a team culture of continuous improvement aligned with Covalent’s values.
Role Requirements
- 3+ years experience as an NPI and/or project planner within CMMS
- Knowledge of the Work Health and Safety (Mines) 2022 Regulations
- Experience in setting up SAP master data
- Understanding of Earned Value measurement highly advantageous
- Proficient in using project planning system and scheduling such as MS Project within construction, resources or infrastructure development sectors
- Strong understanding in project management principles, tools and techniques
