headspace is the leading youth mental health organisation in Australia. Recognised nationally, headspace helps thousands of young people, and their family and friends, access vital support through our headspace services in over 154 communities across Australia.
The headspace Our Way Our Say program has been co-designed with First Nations Peoples living in the Darwin region as part of the National Suicide Prevention Trial. The program aims to deliver culturally safe, evidence informed, holistic, skills-based approach to mental health education and suicide prevention to middle and senior school students.

- Coordinate the Darwin-based Our Way Our Say team to deliver the program to schools, staff and students and ensure program fidelity is maintained
- Work with the National Program Manager to support the ongoing development and implementation of the Darwin Our Way Our Say program materials and training in line with feedback from schools participating in the program
- Ensure the ongoing sustainability and support of all Darwin Our Way Our Say Pilot sites
- Monitor all relevant aspects of program’s progress to ensure the timely and successful delivery of the program
- Continually build upon knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and culture
- Please note this is an identified role and must be occupied by an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person
- Relevant Tertiary qualifications or significant demonstrated experience in education, health and/or relevant discipline
- A strong understanding of youth mental health issues including suicide postvention, suicide, and the impact of trauma on school communities.
- Experience working in similar level positions in Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander policy, programs or services
- Experience in the delivery of training/resource packages
- Capacity to travel
