The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Nurse Educator (Mental Health and Specialist Services) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Plan, develop, implement and evaluate nursing education programs and strategies
- Engage in quality activity and research projects and enable a culture of research mindedness
- Partner with Clinical Facilitators to enhance the learning experiences of staff and nursing students
- Take a leadership role with the Mental Health Transition support program and other career pathways
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
- Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
- Be credentialed through the College of Mental Health Nurses (or be prepared to work towards a credential in Mental Health Nursing)
- A Masters or higher qualification within a relevant area is highly desirable
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent full time
- Base salary ranging from $132 562 - $143 924 per annum

The Mental Health Education team consists of an Assistant Director of Nursing, Nurse Educators and Clinical Facilitators. The team facilitates opportunities for learning and excellence in clinical education, workforce development and growth through coordination and delivery of best practice education services and research within the division of MHSS and across the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service.
