ABOUT THE ROLE
The Nurse Manager - Clinical Governance role is a permanent full time position within the Clinical Governance Department and reporting to the General Manager - Clinical Governance.
The Nurse Manager is an integral component of the Clinical Governance Clinical business unit within Sonic HealthPlus. This role is responsible for developing clinical standards that can be implemented across Australia, providing education, training and support to those standards and finally developing audit tools and processes to ensure a National Consistent Standard of service is maintained. Due to the supervisory nature of many of the duties, the role requires a sound understanding of Occupational Medicine, General Practice principals and Travel health issues, with an ability to engage and promote high performing teams through regular communication with the State/Operations and Practice Managers.
DUTIES
The responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
- Provide support to the Senior Nurse team, Senior Doctor group, Registered and Enrolled Nurses, Allied Health professionals and clinic staff to ensure the delivery of safe high quality care to our patients, candidates and clients with optimum clinical outcomes
- Develop, implement and monitor clinical policy and procedures ensuring they are up to date with relevant state and legislative requirements
- Build and maintain constructive, collaborative relationships within the Executive, Business Development and Practice Management Teams
- Establishment and support of sustainable Clinical Governance systems to support operations and business growth
- Assists in the establishment and implementation of new clinical services
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate will have proven leadership and problem solving skills, be well organised and have great administration skills with excellent customer service and interpersonal skills together with the following:
- University qualification in Nursing and AHPRA registration
- Experience in policy/procedure writing and implementation
- Ability to complete risk assessments and make appropriate decisions in high pressure situations
- Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills with a strong customer focus
- Effective negotiation and supervisory skills
- Leads by example in displaying appropriate behaviours and integrity
- Excellent written skills
- Effective time management and ability to prioritise
- Collaborative and inclusive approach in dealing with stakeholders, clinics and teams
- Well-developed commercial acumen, with a focus on collaboration.
- Experience working within a quality framework and understanding of auditing, ISO and/or NSQHS.
- Ability to travel to various locations.
- Current "C" class driver's licence.
- Current National Police Clearance (issued within the last 3 months).
