Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD) is looking to recruit to the idyllic Manly Adolescent and Young Adult Hospice (AYAH) located on Sydney's Northern Beaches overlooking Sydney Harbour.
An exciting pivotal leadership opportunity exists for Senior Nursing Staff to apply for the Manly AYAH Nurse Unit Manager (Level 2) role.
The Manly AYAH is Australia’s first dedicated eight bed healthcare facility, providing specialised support to Adolescents and Young Adults with a life limiting illness. The care provided will be holistic, compassionate, and culturally appropriate, symptom management, and end of life care, delivered by an empowered interdisciplinary workforce working in partnership with patients and their families.
The Nurse Unit Manager is responsible for the operational, clinical and resource management of a defined set of services as delegated from the Director of Nursing.

What you'll be doing
The NSLHD Nursing and Midwifery Workforce will be compassionate, competent, confident, contemporary, capable and committed to leading person-centred health care.
The Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) will manage a unit or ward in order to provide a quality standard of care to NSLHD Patients.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

• Registered Nurse-Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA) and Relevant management tertiary qualification OR equivalent work experience, OR a combination of study and work experience; and demonstrated commitment to professional development.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and support a clinical team.
• Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy in Microsoft Applications, roster management systems and electronic medical records.
• Evidence of and commitment to patient/customer focussed care, clinical governance and quality improvement.
