We care for thousands of children each year in our hospitals and in their homes — with one purpose in mind — to help young people live their healthiest lives.An exciting professional development opportunity exists for an experienced and motivated Nurse Unit Manager (or those aspiring to) to lead the Children's Short Stay Unit (CSSU) on a permanent full time basis.
CSSU is a 32 bed ward located in the Clinical Acute Services Building and provides Short Stay care for paediatric patients in an inpatient unit environment for up to 48hrs.What you'll be doingThe Nursing Unit Manager (NUM) is pivotal to the coordination of safe patient care, ward management and leadership with an understanding of the 'children first & foremost' philosophy to ensure optimum service delivery.
The NUM acts as a leader with advance role model skills that promote culture and standards that reflect the NSW Health CORE values of Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment.
- Leads, directs and co-ordinates safe patient care
- Ensures practice is safe and effective, maintaining standards of care through continual quality improvements initiatives
- Manages the ward effectively and within agreed allocated resources
