ROLE OVERVIEW
As a department Nurse Unit Manager, you will provide operational direction to the ward by ensuring efficient and effective fiscal management and promoting high-quality clinical care for the patients. As the leader of this expanding unit, you will be a vital part of the hospital's management team and provide support to the Director of Nursing.
As the NUM, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management;
- Coordinating the delivery of nursing care that is evidence-based;
- Ensuring the delivery of excellent patient and family-centered care in a team-focused environment;
- Providing guidance, mentoring, and support to your team;
- Be accountable for the effective management of human, financial, and material resources;
- Undertaking direct patient care, as required;
- Compliance with ACQSHC National standards.
- Current AHPRA registration;
- Hold relevant post-graduate qualifications highly desirable;
- Have excellent communication skills;
- Have a thorough understanding of our National Standards;
- Committed to delivering exceptional patient care;
- Be comfortable with competing priorities;
- You will be self-motivated, have a sound business acumen, be experienced at making complex decisions;
- You will have a proven track record in people leadership and engagement.
