ROLE OVERVIEW
As a department Nurse Unit Manager, you will provide operational direction to the ward by ensuring efficient and effective fiscal management and promoting high-quality clinical care for the patients. As the leader of this expanding unit, you will be a vital part of the hospital's management team and provide support to the Director of Nursing.
As the NUM, your responsibilities will include:

• Providing operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management;
• Coordinating the delivery of nursing care that is evidence-based;
• Ensuring the delivery of excellent patient and family-centered care in a team-focused environment;
• Providing guidance, mentoring, and support to your team;
• Be accountable for the effective management of human, financial, and material resources;
• Undertaking direct patient care, as required;
• Compliance with ACQSHC National standards.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Current AHPRA registration;
• Hold relevant post-graduate qualifications highly desirable;
• Have excellent communication skills;
• Have a thorough understanding of our National Standards;
• Committed to delivering exceptional patient care;
• Be comfortable with competing priorities;
• You will be self-motivated, have a sound business acumen, be experienced at making complex decisions;
• You will have a proven track record in people leadership and engagement.
